IncQuery Bughunting Game

Rules

The goal of the game is to find as many bugs as possible, in the most current (-CI) version of EMF-IncQuery.

To participate in the game, you should:

  • use the -CI (continuous integration) build, available at http://viatra.inf.mit.bme.hu/update/incquery-ci/
  • make sure to have an up-to-date Eclipse Indigo Modeling installation, with the most current version of Xtext/Xtend 2.3 (as described on the getting started page).
  • create a reproducible, useful ticket on your team's Trac
    • all information necessary to reproduce the issue should be present (installation details, versions, models, example code, etc.)
    • describe the correct behaviour that you expect, and the incorrect behaviour that you get in appropriate detail

The rules of the game are simple:

  • we will monitor the Trac systems daily, and update this site accordingly.
  • each bug report confirmed by us is worth one point.
    • we will not confirm duplicates, i.e. issues that have already been reported on the official GitHub issue tracker, or on the Trac system of the reporting team.
  • if you attach a patch to your report that fixes the issue (and applies cleanly to the source tree), you get +2 points.
  • whoever has the most points by the final deadline wins. This is a game for individuals, not teams!
  • the final deadline is was 23:59, 15th May 2012.

Prizes

Everyone who participates in this game will be acknowledged on the website (here and on Eclipse.org). Additionally, the top three participants will be awarded a grand prize consisting of:

  • the retail version of the upcoming Diablo III game by Blizzard
  • two tickets to a show by the Dumaszínház
  • an item from the treasure stash of the IB414 Lab

The winner will get to choose first (from the three items above), second place gets to choose second, and third place gets the remaining item.
